Thickened Tailings: Transport and Deposition

Thickened tailings are mineral processing residues whose solids have been concentrated, usually by removing some water before the material leaves the plant, so that the slurry placed in a deposition area carries a higher solids fraction than a conventional dilute tailings stream. The term names a material state and a handling choice, not a guaranteed field result.
